Antisemitism statement

On this year’s International Holocaust Remembrance Day, ForMission College joined the growing number of universities and colleges to make a public stand against antisemitism.

The college aims to ensure that all students, whatever their background, have a fulfilling experience of higher education. ForMission commits to treating all students equally and with equal respect. As part of that commitment, ForMission opposes all forms of antisemitism and has chosen to adopt the IHRA (International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance) working definition of antisemitism, as a guide to interpreting and understanding antisemitism.

IHRA working definition of antisemitism:

“Antisemitism is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical and physical manifestations of antisemitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities.”

This position on antisemitism was formally approved by the Trustees of ForMission College and its Board of Governance on 27 January 2022
