Online (UK)

ForMission is pleased to be able to offer students the option of studying their BA online. As a college we have always seen the value in students being able to study and serve in their local context. Our online delivery option saves time and travel expenses and allows students to study from the comfort of their home.

ForMission’s teaching involves “flipped learning:” with this model students are provided with study guides to read before class, allowing for the class time to be spent discussing the material. This style of teaching has been proven to work well on Zoom. The learning experience is enhanced through the use of breakout rooms and online tools and apps to enable effective interaction. ForMission provides all students with access to a digital library (e-books) and other online resources. All work is submitted via ForMission’s virtual learning environment, Moodle.

A typical week for Online BA students

With 10 weeks in each term, a typical week includes:

  • One day of online classes via Zoom
  • Two days (12 hours) of work-based learning (placement) in your chosen local church / missional organisation / charity
  • Half a day of online tutorials and fellowship (in “cluster”)
  • One and half days of independent study

The programme we offer online is the BA (Hons) in Theology, Mission and Ministry with Specialism in Missional Leadership. The course content is the same quality content as that delivered at our physical campuses with the same syllabus, study guides, assessments and intended learning outcomes.

Alongside classes, students take part in weekly clusters, a time to engage in fellowship, discipleship and formation. This is a key part of being a community with others studying online. To further build community, we typically organise three short residentials each year.

Every student that studies online with ForMission will receive support from a dedicated online tutor and administrator.

Tuition: £7750 (part-time fees are £3875). Visit the BA Fees page for more information on tuition and financial assistance.
