New Students Celebrate Induction Day

ForMission welcomes new intake of BA and MA students

Yesterday, ForMission College celebrated the start of the 2021-22 academic year by welcoming new cohorts of BA and MA students to its Head Office in Birmingham for registration and induction – and a time of fellowship and worship.

Principal Chris Ducker encouraged the new students to make the most of the opportunity to study at theological college. He formally welcomed them into the ForMission community, which he described as a worshipful, diverse, learning community, that participates together in the mission of God.

ForMission’s undergraduate programme (and foundation year) is taught across campuses in Manchester, London, Leeds and Birmingham, as well as partner campuses with Kingdom Faith, Reign Ministries and Josiah Venture. This September also saw the launch of ForMission’s innovative Online Campus led by Gustaf du Plessis. This now means that students can join BA classes from anywhere in the UK!

Our postgraduate programme welcomed 17 new students working towards an MA in Missional Leadership. This year saw the relaunch of our MA specialism of Spirituality and the launch of a new specialism in Social Entrepreneurship, offered in partnership with Fresh Expressions.

Postgraduate Programme Director Andy Kingston-Smith said “We are delighted to have Fresh Expressions partner with us in our MA in Missional Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship. In rapidly-changing and challenging times, ethically-minded and dynamic leaders are needed to encourage the wider church to embrace a holistic approach to engaging missionally in their communities. We aim to deepen the knowledge, skills and character needed to shape and equip these leaders to face such challenges with courage, flexibility and passion; this new programme seeks to do just that!”

Entry points to the MA programme are in September, January and May each year; and to the BA programme in September.
