BA Pathways

 

The BA has several pathways and attendance options, some delivery methods are only available for certain pathways

BA (Hons) in Theology, Mission and Ministry with specialism in Missional Leadership

3 years full-time, 6 years part-time.

(Attendance option 1,2 or 4)

Option 1: Regional Hub with Weekly Attendance

Our programmes can be studied full-time or part-time at one of our regional hubs. If you are studying at a hub, a typical week in Year 1 of the programme will look something like this, depending on whether you are studying full-time or part-time:

  • Full-time: typically, class time is 1-2 days, work-based learning for 12 hours per week, and 1-2 days per week for independent study.
  • Part-time: class time is 0.5-1 day, work-based learning for 6 hours per week, and 0.5-1 day per week for independent study.

ForMission’s UK regional hubs are in Birmingham, London, and Manchester.

BA (Hons) in Theology, Mission and Ministry with specialism in Youth Ministry

3 years full-time, 6 years part-time.

(Attendance option 5.)

 

Option 2: Online Hub in the UK with Weekly Online Attendance

Our programmes can be studied full-time or part-time at our online campus. This is similar to the previous option, but attendance at weekly classes and tutorial supervision is entirely via video conferencing software e.g. Zoom. Students are able to live at home and undertake work-based learning in their local area. Students are only required to attend a short residential 2-3 times per year. BA (Hons) in Theology, Mission and Ministry with specialism in European Ministry

3 years full-time, 6 years part-time.

Option 3: European Online Hub

We operate a European Online Hub in partnership with Josiah Venture. This campus is suitable for students based in mainland Europe, combining online learning with residential retreats in various European locations (such as the Czech Republic, Poland, North Macedonia, Germany or elsewhere). This allows students to remain rooted in their local ministry context while also gaining cross-cultural ministry experience. The curriculum is tailored to uniquely prepare students to serve as missional leaders in the context of Central and Eastern Europe. Students at this campus follow the European Missional Leadership pathway. BA (Hons) in Theology, Mission and Ministry with specialism in Worship

3 years full-time, 6 years part-time.

(from September 2024, subject to final approval by Birmingham Newman University)

Option 4: Regional Hub with Conference Delivery

Kingdom Faith operates a hub that meets in the seaside town of Scarborough in North Yorkshire. This hub delivers the programme of teaching through six conference study weeks each year – three weeks online and three weeks face-to-face in Scarborough. This is combined with weekly online video contact for tutorials and cluster sessions. Students at this hub can travel to Scarborough for tutorials, cluster sessions or teaching days, or we can help students to find accommodation as needed. BA (Hons) in Theology, Mission and Ministry with Foundation Year

Foundation Year is 1 year full-time. BA degree is 3 years full-time, 6 years part-time.

The Foundation Year is an additional year of study to enable students to develop academic and other skills before commencing the BA Degree. The Foundation Year is not available part-time.          

(Attendance option 1, 2 or 5- subject to availability).

Option 5: Campus with Residential Attendance at Conferences

Our youth ministry pathway is delivered at two residential study weeks each year, combined with weekly online teaching, tutorials and cluster sessions. This pathway is co-delivered with Reign Ministries.  Residentials are normally held near Ledbury, Herefordshire(although this is subject to change)  You can find out more about the Youth Ministry option here: https://reignministries.co.uk/theology-degree/.

 

BA (Hons) Top-Up in Theology, Mission and Ministry

1 year full-time, 2 years part-time.

The Top-Up Year is Year 3 of the programme. It is aimed at students who have completed a Foundation Degree or a DipHE and want to obtain a BA (Hons) Degree.   

(Attendance option 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5)

 

Exit Awards

  • If you exit the programme after passing Year 1 of the BA, you will be awarded a CertHE in Theology, Mission and Ministry.
  • If you exit the programme after passing Year 2 of the BA, you will be awarded a DipHE in Theology, Mission and Ministry.
  • There is no exit award for completing the Foundation Year: students will progress onto Year 1 of the BA degree.

ForMission offers a range of ways of studying and our programmes are available in multiple locations, which we refer to as hubs. For some pathways, students meet weekly at their hubs.  For others, students meet online or at week long residentials.
