Background
Prior to joining ForMission in 2023, Gareth was Lecturer in Practical Theology and Programme Director for the BA in Mission and Ministry at Cliff College. Before that he spent ten years as a youth, children, and families minister, most recently in an Anglican church in Cheshire and before that in an Independent Baptist Church in North London. Gareth lives in Buxton with his wife and three teenage sons.
Qualifications
He trained at Oak Hill College in London, gaining a BA in Youth and Children’s Ministry in 2008. He has a PhD in Family Ministry and Intergenerational Church from the University of Manchester
Research
His research interests are in youth, children, and family ministry with a focus on family ministry and intergenerational church; he has published in both areas at an academic and popular level.

Gareth is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Association for the Study of Youth Ministry.
